Schwarzenegger’s secret message to the state Assembly: ‘Fuck You.’...

Earlier this week Arnold Schwarenegger was accosted by outspoken State Assemblyman Tom Ammiano of San Francisco, who shouted "You lie!" as well as telling Arnold he could "kiss my gay ass". In response Arnold vetoed a bill authored by Ammiano with this letter below:

So what we have is an administration who kept their citizens in a state of fear, broke their own laws and spent 33% of 8 years (approximately 963 days) on vacation.

Interesting, in an obscene kind of way, letter from Michael Moore about the US bail out:

The richest 400 Americans -- that's right, just four hundred people -- own MORE than the bottom 150 million Americans combined. 400 rich Americans have got more stashed away than half the entire country! Their combined net worth is $1.6 trillion. During the eight years of the Bush Administration, their wealth has increased by nearly $700 billion -- the same amount that they are now demanding we give to them for the "bailout." Why don't they just spend the money they made under Bush to bail themselves out? They'd still have nearly a trillion dollars left over to spread amongst themselves!

Open letter from Michael Moore to Caroline Kennedy...

Interesting open letter from Michael Moore to Caroline Kennedy asking her to be Obama's running mate in the upcoming U.S. elections. I actually think that Moore may be on to something. The supposed short list of 3 candidates are either all old school U.S. politcians or nobodies. Good luck on getting her to agree though....

The Harper government introduced Bill C-61 today. It's the long threatened copyright amendments Bill. CBC news has coverage here.

Money quote:

"People caught downloading music or video files illegally could also be sued for a maximum of $500, but uploading a file to a peer-to-peer network or YouTube could result in lawsuits of $20,000 per file."

Michael Geist, University of Ottawa prof, and noted critic of the government's Bill C-61, has a good analysis of the Bill here. According to Mr. Geist looking at the controversial American DMCA copyright law versus Canadian Bill C-61 he says that 

"The digital lock provisions are worse than the DMCA. Yes - worse."
